PET/CT

PET/CT stands for positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) used in combination together. This breakthrough technology represents the very latest innovation in diagnostic imaging. PET/CT scanning technology allows the doctors at Beverly Hills Cancer Center to use a special type of camera and a tracer (radioactive glucose) to look at organs in the body with great contrast and clarity.  It helps identify and localize cancer faster than ever before, enabling physicians to make an accurate diagnosis, and aids in critical treatment decisions.

Our PET/CT has been awarded accreditation after a comprehensive review performed by the American College of Radiology (ACR). This certification confirms that our center meets rigorous standards for practice in PET/CT.  People who are sent by their doctors for a PET/CT scan will receive complete instructions about how to prepare, what to wear, what to expect and a thorough explanation of the procedure.
